Dentophobia

The Anxious Patient

Fear of the dentist can stem from various causes: fear of pain, lack of trust, fear of a medical mishap, shame, or panic. Dr. Lanners was once an anxious patient himself, as a dentist removed a tooth without anesthesia when he was just six years old.

He had the opportunity to study in Seattle, gaining extensive experience at the Dental Fears Clinic at the University of Washington.

From 1995 to 1997, he also trained at SPOM in Paris to better treat anxious or phobic patients.

We partner with Summit Clinic to perform procedures under general anesthesia.

  • General Anesthesia

We also offer treatments under general anesthesia for patients with dental phobia or requiring complex procedures.

General anesthesia is a technique that places the patient in a state of complete, pain-free unconsciousness, allowing for surgical procedures without any sensation.

The cost of general anesthesia for dental treatment varies depending on factors such as the duration of the procedure, case complexity, and the chosen clinic. Generally, the cost for a procedure under general anesthesia starts at 1,400 CHF, which includes the presence of an anesthesiologist, the use of a specialized operating room, and the preparation and transport of equipment.
